ESPN Fan Fest 2015

WOW. I thought something was weird. I wasn't at the 2015 NFL  Experience today. 
I was at the ESPN FAN FEST.
I went to Scottsdale Az this morning to see Mike and Mike. First Take. Sports Center.

While I was there I saw Hannah Storm, Mark Schelerth known as STINK.
I also saw JAWS, Lesean Mcoy, Merrill Hodge, and Jay Crawford.
Fun to see how they act when the cameras are off.

When you think of 4 bedroom homes in Mountain Park Ranch Phoenix some people that are new to the area might think of an area north of South Mountain. When they hear of "Ahwatukee" they think of the south side of South Mountain.
 The problem is Ahwatukee is an urban village of the City of Phoenix.It is a triangular shaped area with borders on the north  South Mountian   I-10 on the east and Pecos on the south. In the near future Loop 202 will be where Pecos is now.
Although annexed by the city of Phoenix in the mid 1980's, before substantial residential growth, many of Ahwatukee's residents do not like to  associate their region with the rest of the city, because of its geographic location (South Mountain and South Mountain Park separate Ahwatukee from the other 14 urban villages of Phoenix, which lie to the north). I believe at one point Phoenix wanted to make a tunnel under south mountain to connect the two areas.
Great views of south mountain are the main attraction to this area.
Schools are supported by the Kyrene School Dist and Tempe Union. This drives people crazy that are new to the area. Once you see how it is structured it all makes sense that two school districts support the same are. Both have a very high rating.
Great golf in the area The Foothills Golf Club and Club West both desert courses. Maybe you'll see a Rattle Snake.
Also at the base of some of the best Mountain Biking in Az
Easy access to the freeways and great shopping in Mountain Park Ranch make this a highly desirable are to purchase your next home.

If I only knew then what I know now!!

I decided to do a brief History of Super Bowl #01. I know your thinking: It is a little early to talk about the Super Bowl, but today is the anniversary of the first one ever played (Jan 15th 1967)
The game was played in Los Angeles  at the Colosium in Exposition Park in down town L.A.
Maximum capacity is over 93,000 and full attendance to that game was less than 65,000.
At that time I was only 11 years old, but if I knew then what I know now, I would have done things differently. I lived in Canoga Park Calif which is only about an hour drive away from downtown LA.  I would have emptied my piggy bank to go to that game. I've never been to a Super Bowl, but I went to the NFC championship game in 2009 when the Arizona Cardinals beat the Philadelphia Eagles. Best sporting event I've ever seen.
Here is a bit of then and now:
Price of a ticket in 1967 $12.00    This year the base price is $600-$1,200.
On Stub Hub starting price is over $2,000 up to $16,000.00 (WTF)
Cost of a 30 second commercial in 1967 was $42,000.00
This year you are looking at a cool $4.5 million for 30 seconds.
For all my friends that aren’t that good at math = $150,000.00/second. (I think I’m in the wrong line of work)
It was the only Super Bowl that was simulcast NBC was assigned to AFL and CBS was assigned to the NFL.
Are you ready for this, both networks taped over most of the game tapes, because they wanted to save money. (common practice with unimportant sporting events). Here is a link to SUPER BOWL #01 I found on you tube.
Back in the ‘60s and ‘70s no one thought that football would pass baseball in ratings.
I can’t believe I was so close yet so far away.
If I only knew then what I know now, I would have done things differently.
I hope you will enjoy the game from home like me. I guess I could go down to the University of Phoenix Stadium and see if I can SCALP a ticket.
Again I find myself only a one hour drive from the event. This time I can drive myself. Just need to justify the outrageous ticket price to my wife.

If you're looking for a 4 Bedroom Home in Cran Brooke Manor Scottsdale Arizona, you have come to the right place.
With 134 homes in the sub-division, and no HOA telling you what to do, and when to do it, you are free to do with your home as you please, as long as you stay within city and state codes.
All the homes in this neighborhood were built between 1950-1970. Most were built between 1954-1955. Home sizes range from 900-1800 sq.ft. The bulk of the homes are in the 1100-1500 sq.ft. range. Most of the homes when they were originally built had a car port only. (some only had a one car, car port) Many of the homes have had the carport enclosed to make a garage or to ad square footage to the home. Careful, some were done without proper permits and/or without a licensed contractor.

Here are the Northern Lights in Alaska

Here is my fun Blog for the week. I've never seen the Northern Lights but I have it on my bucket list.
My problem is do I want to be exposed to -20 deg weather to see this outrageous phenomenon.
Here is a video I found that looks like it captures the spirit of the Northern Lights.

If you live in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Nome or Barrow Alaska, this is a common site in the winter. I'm just not sure I could handle living in such a harsh environment during the winter. Two months of darkness with some pretty lights is hard to get my head wrapped around.
If you'd like to live in a "cool" winter climate, move to Chandler Arizona. Wicket hot in the summer, but you can go outside year round and not FREEZE to death.

Golf Courses in Ahwatukee

Please enjoy this post of Golf Courses in Ahwatukee. FYI the area on the north side of South Mountain is actually a Phoenix address.
There are a few subdivison's that have the name of Ahwatukee, but the address is Phoenix.
CLUB WEST is probably the most well know, also the most expensive.  Currently $75 in the morning $44 midday $25 after 3:00 pm
Great layout. Desert Course so you need to make sure you hit them straight and with the correct distance.
The Foothills is probably my second favorite course. Again you need to take DEAD aim $75 in the am $44 midday $18 twilight.
The Ahwatukee Country Club is a more forgiving track. Wide fairways no desert to swallow your ball.  $44 AM $25 midday $19 nine holes.
Other course's close by Whirlwind is a must. 36 holes cut into raw desert. Great views. A must if you live in the Phoenix Metro or come to visit the Valley of the Sun. Bring you check book to this one. A.M. tee time on the weekend $185 big ones. $89.00 mid week.
